Paws for the 2014 Blue Cross Tea Party

28 April 2014

UK - Tea and cake, what's not to love? It’s nearly time for the Blue Cross Tea Party and they need as many of you as possible to get involved and help raise money for sick and unwanted pets, writes Gemma Hyland.

The official party takes place across the nation on Friday, 9th May, but anyone wanting to hold a fundraising party can do so on another day.

A tea party is a really fun and easy way to support the Blue Cross. Simply press “paws” for a bit and provide a cuppa and some treats for friends, family or colleagues in exchange for donations.

No matter how much you raise, whether it’s £2 or £200, you’re helping to give more abandoned and poorly pets a happy, healthy future.

Blue Cross volunteer Sue Gurney decided to throw her tea party early to coincide with her birthday celebrations.

She entertained more than 40 visitors throughout the day and raised an amazing £305 for pets in need at Blue Cross.

She says: “I had a lovely day and I have been overwhelmed by the generosity of my family and friends. I really enjoyed it, it was the nicest birthday I have ever had.”

We'll be holding our own Paws for Tea party here at ThePetSite on Friday, 9th May. Make sure to look out for photos from the event.
