95 Per Cent of People Celebrate Pets Birthdays

UK - Research by Battersea Dogs & Cats Home (BDCH) shows that 95 per cent of people celebrate their pets birthday.

Lindsey Quinlan, Battersea’s Head of Cattery, said: “It’s amazing how many people celebrate their pets’ birthdays, but when an animal feels like a member of the family, you can see why people want to make a special effort.

"There are some very lucky dogs and cats out there who have happy homes, but we have hundreds of animals who are homeless and don’t have families to celebrate anything with."

Almost 300 pet owners answered a poll on the BDCH website and social media declaring whether they celebrated their pets’ birthdays, before posting photos and stories of their furry friends’ big days.
