Sanctuary Raises Funds to Build New Home for Dogs

07 October 2014

TAIWAN - An animal sanctuary responsible for turning around the lives of countless dogs is being forced to move to build bigger premises to house their 200 animals - and counting!

The Sanctuary came to prominence earlier this year, when one of their previous tenants won an award from the RSPCA.

Tiny the Rottweiler made an incredible recovery after suffering from full body Demodicosis.

Owner Leila Pereira, who was volunteering at The Sanctuary in Taiwan when Tiny was found, said: “He looked like he had given up on life.

"I fell immediately in love with the large, loveable Rottie with an ironic name. I moved into a new apartment just so I could adopt him. He is now a beautiful and very well loved dog.”

Sean McCormack, founder of The Sanctuary added: "The Sanctuary, which rescued Tiny and turned his life around, is being forced to move and so is building a bigger, better, more beautiful home for our now 200 dogs and other animals.

"We house only the most difficult cases, giving once-suffering animals a happy, healthy, easy life - and sometimes even a new family. We're currently 27 per cent funded of our $75,000 goal."
