UK - A stray cat dubbed ‘Horatio’ after he had a painful poorly eye removed is on the lookout for a new home.

Named after naval hero Nelson, who was blinded one eye, Horatio was in very poor health and suffering with severe eye injuries when handed into Blue Cross.

But now the friendly black and white cat is in safe hands with a volunteer pet fosterer.

Blue Cross foster carer Joanne Park said: “Poor Horatio had really been through the wars before he came into our care. Not only has he lost an eye, he was also found in very poor health.

“Despite his past battles in life he is a handsome, loving cat who deserves a bit of peace and a cosy lap in a loving home.”

Horatio is thought to be between five and six-years-old and is looking for a home as the only pet and outdoor access to enjoy a spot of gardening.
