Cat from Sheffield found in Edinburgh

11 August 2015

UK - The Scottish SPCA is seeking the owner of a petrified cat found in an Edinburgh stairwell with a microchip registered to an address in Sheffield.

The male cat, named Misty (pictured), was discovered at a block of flats at Merchiston Crescent on Wednesday (5 August).

Animal rescue officer Steph Grant said: "Misty was absolutely petrified and frozen to the spot.

"He hadn't moved from the stairwell for two days and we think he may be a house cat who isn't used to the outside world.

"Misty is microchipped to an address in Sheffield but unfortunately both the numbers registered are no longer in use.

"His owner may have moved to Edinburgh without updating the details on the chip.

"This lovely boy is long-haired and has distinctive black markings on his face.

"We're keen to hear from anyone who recognises Misty on 03000 999 999."
