Are You Considering Getting a Kitten or Cat for Christmas?

24 December 2015

UK - If you are thinking of bringing a furry friend home this Christmas, have you considered whether or not you have time to care for a pet? Is your home suitable for a cat? Is anybody in your home allergic to pets?

These are all important questions you must think about before buying a cat or kitten.

One of the most important questions is of course, can you afford a cat and will you be able to afford any unexpected payments to vets or for medication?

The average cost of a pet a year is £900.

Before you decide to get a cat this Christmas, make sure you are prepared and ready to bring a pet into a good home. Research the different types of breeds to find one with characteristics suitable to you and your lifestyle.

If you are looking to get a kitten, make sure it is at least eight weeks old. Kittens are a bundle of energy - they need a lot of attention and interaction constantly to develop into a happy and socialised cat.
