Keep Your Four-Legged Friends Warm this Winter

03 February 2016

SCOTLAND - With more bad weather forecast across the UK in the coming days, Scotland’s leading outdoor retailer Tiso is asking pet owners to spare a thought for their four-legged friends during the precarious conditions.

Chris Tiso, CEO of Tiso, said: “In the words of the great Billy Connolly ‘there is no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing’, which applies to our four-legged friends as much as their human owners this winter.

“Many pets aren’t used to severe drops in temperature and can develop hypothermia or frostbite with ease. When going outdoors dogs especially should be kitted out with the appropriate garments and boots to protect their paws during their much-needed exercise routine.

“So while you are wrapped up in your own outdoor gear for those invigorating winter walks, don’t forget about cosy functional pet wear to keep the tail of man’s best friend wagging.”

Eight-year-old cocker spaniel Sophie from Edinburgh paws-tested garments including a full-coverage waterproof and breathable Aira™ Rain Jacket (RRP £65 and available in grey) and a funky quartet of GRIP Tex all terrain paw-wear boots (RRP £80) by the aptly named RuffWear, available from Tiso.
