Appeal for Information After Dog Collapses in Hot Car

05 August 2016

UK - The RSPCA and West Yorkshire police were called with allegations that a white and tan British Bulldog was left locked in a car at approximately 2.30pm on Tuesday 19 July in the car park of a Morrisons supermarket in Guisely, Leeds.

Inspector Nikki Cheetham said: “We have serious concerns for the welfare of this dog following reports that it had collapsed and was seen unresponsive in the back of the vehicle.

"After noticing the distressed dog, the caller rushed back into the supermarket to alert staff who came out to the vehicle, followed shortly by the owner, but we understand the dog had by then collapsed. The owner then quickly drove off stating she was taking the dog to the vets."

Do you have any information about Ruby or her owner?

“We are extremely keen to speak to the owner of the dog as soon as possible. She is described as a white female of slim build, aged approximately mid fifties and with mid-length light coloured hair.

"The vehicle is said to be a white 4x4-type with blacked-out windows. We also understand from those present at the time that the dog’s name is Ruby.

“Anyone with any information about Ruby should call us as soon as possible through our appeal line on 0300 123 8018.”
